Ultra Running

16 March 1981

Victoria started running ultras in March 2011. Her first long distance ultra-run was the Wye Valley 50-mile race where she was accompanied by her best friend who encouraged her to have a try at an ultra-distance race for her 30th birthday!   Victoria loved her first event so much she then did a further seven events in 2011 and often even now runs with a Malamute named Blizzard.

Greatest achievement

Vicci’s greatest achievements are winning the 9BAR sponsored 50K ultra race in Nottingham, and without a doubt winning the Scafell Pike Trail Marathon.

Vicci has not taken part in as many races in 2014 due to the very important reason… she became a Mum. Vicci is very proud that she was able to maintain her training the whole way through her pregnancy… she was even running marathons at five and a half months pregnant. Vicci has also been very pleased she has been able to get back into running including competitive racing less than 12 weeks after baby Juliet (future ultra-runner) was born.

Vicci is hoping for a fantastic year of racing; she is already signed up for the World Trail Championships in Annecy, a 86KM Mountain race which will take place in May as well as the Scarfell Pike Trail Marathon and the Ennerdale 50K ultra in the stunning surrounding on the Lake District.

“Who wouldn’t? The vast range of flavours and varieties of bars is amazing. I love the taste of them. They make me feel good, I use them on all my longer runs. I can’t get enough of them.”
